Can Living Green Stop The Current Ecological Crisis

The ecological crisis we’re going through right now is chiefly caused by human beings. So who’s at fault, the unenlightened masses or the unrelenting pursuit of profits at all costs by the huge companies? Reality is, much consumption and misuse of natural resources is something we are mostly guilty of. But what can men and women do when they are helpless? While much of the ecological balance has been impacted by global warming, the impact on the ecology can be brought down by individuals by taking certain choices.

There is a great deal to be attained from implementing solutions endorsed by the green movement. Going green seems like the only feasible choice available to protect the earth. Alas, all the current damage cannot be overturned, but at least further harm can be stopped and the impending tragedy for the most part warded off. To keep the crisis from becoming worse, individuals can begin using products and procedures that are earth-friendly. A couple of per-requisites exist that must be fulfilled before we can have a less polluted, more sustainable earth.

The list includes utilization of green waste, not consuming meat, choosing to buy locally grown food and ditching the old “use it, throw it away” mindset. It’s basically only a matter of each one of us choosing to maintain a deliberate aim to execute those choices. Smarter and less wasteful consumption of electrical energy and water are needed if the ecological balance is to be recovered. The rising level of CO2 in the atmosphere has been the trigger for the ecological crisis. More and more cars, manufacturing plants, intensive, extensive faming and innovative equipment are actively fueling the present-day crisis.

Recent disasters such as tsunamis, flooding, earthquakes, odd extremes of weather condition and deficits in food and water can all be connected to the present ecological crisis. It has become essential, because of all of these damaging effects, to take some strong steps to deal with the situation that continues to get worse. The most evident thing to do is to sway individuals that the best hope for the salvation of the earth, and ultimately human life, is the espousal of green living. The emphasis must shift to swaying the masses that their individual contributions, even if in little ways, will make an impact and are critical components of success on a bigger scale. The media has a crucial role to play in making the masses aware of the importance of taking on green lifestyles, even if only in tiny measures.

As this could be the last method that can be used, it is up to every person to assume some responsibility by living wisely. Without essentially raising our environmental cognizance, the decline towards eventual ruin looks inescapable. The very survival of the earth depends on the masses accepting responsibility for their individual roles in the overall effort to resolve the ecological crisis. If things go on like they have for the last generation, is there any hope at all for the future generation?
